Guess I should have been clear that I did not use sealant on the rubber plug and 
the rubber plug is working fine.  


My issue is that I've heard these things can pop on you.  Also, this is a stock 
class show car, but not a trailer queen, and I don't want to have this non-stock 
looking thing in the block. I'd like to get a metal plug in there.
