I was in to see Dodger, aka Roger Pettigrew, at the VA Hospital here in Omaha. He is not in good shape at all. He went in because he had a foot infection that turned gangrenous. A blood vessel was blocked and they shot some meds into it to dissolve/dissipate the clotting. Yesterday it was better but during the night it took a turn for the worse and they did emergency surgery at 3AM today to replace the bad blood vessel on his lower leg with one from his upper leg. I saw him about 11AM and a doctor came in and said the surgeon was being called as he was bleeding too much. There was quite a lot of blood on his bandages and pad on the bed.
Dodger is a very private person and hadn't notified any of his family that he was in the hospital. He wouldn't even let his live in girl friend of three years bring him to the hospital. I called the hospital and asked to speak with the ICU and had them ask if he wanted a visitor. He did approve me. I did not stay long at all due to his weakened condition.
I think it would be nice, and appreciated by him, if we would inundate him with get well cards. Hospital stays these days are not very long, although I think his might be, so it's best to get them off asap if you are interested. Here's the
address:

I will keep everyone up to date as best I can.
