Re: 440 timing

The 440 is 30 over and ballanced, with a steel crank and a 6pk hydralic cam. The compresion is only 9 to 1. The carb is a 625 Carter. (9636sa)

I looked up the timing in a 1971 book and it said 5btdc. I noticed it was around 15-20 btdc when I started. I put it to 5 and it ran bad.

So I'm now at 15, but not sure if it's the right timing. I'm in Carson City at a 4500ft elevation and the car came from Dallas Texas. So

I was wondering if the metering rod, springs and main jets need to be changed, but I don't know what size if they do.
