A good cleaning (rust, dirt, sludge etc) will help and then lube them up.  WD40 or other penatrating sprays work good to loosen up the crud, then you can use some carb cleaner, brake cleaner (use at your own risk) to clean up the rest of it, Clean the channels with soap and water and a tooth brush to get 50 years of dirt and moss out of them inside the doors, THEN lube them up with a nice lube.  Maybe Lithum grease in a spray can or something else.  Something that won't attract dirt.  When I get home if nobody has looked it up in the interchange book I will do it then.  ETA 5 hours
