Bill, I like those lifts you posted. Ima measure my roof of my garage tomm. I wish I had a taller roof in my garage, I'm sure it's possible to make it taller, but that just seems like a huge undertaking and investment. I saw those portable two post lifts online, where you put bolts in the cement, then roll up posts when you wanna use them and bolt them down.
The idea would be to put bolts in driveway outside of garage in front. Place caps or something over the bolts so I don't run over them and pop a tire or ruin the bolts. But when I'm ready to use, roll out posts and motor thats on the dolly. Bolt everything up, and raise car as high as I want. Only thing that's unfortunate is its subject to weather :-/

it is okay i just cringe at the thought
Doug,
I'm sorry to hear of that. I was not speaking of drive up ramps, I was speaking of the steel ramps used with the 4-post lifts. These steel ramps are very heavy and get heavier each year as they get older. You can order these ramps in aluminum as an accessory to compensate for their age.

stay away from ramps ,,i lost a dear friend who got pinned under a car when they collasped,,,he suffocated from the weight of the car on him,,,
Every year those steel ramps just get heavier!...Nick T.
