There is still 1000 ppm in their oil. It was reduced but not taken out completely. The zinc was reduced mainly because of the O2 sensor. Lead blocks the cat. We had a lot of problems with American cars and the leaded gas in Europe.

Zinc actually clogs cats so it was eliminated from diesel oils as well.

Another thing to remember, diesel oils are formulated for low rpm
engines. If you ever wind out your classic then this is another thing
to consider.
