A friend of mine has used these and installed many over the years. He says that you should use the pertronix coil, don't ask me why, just that he had a few issues with the first couple that he did and since using the right coil, no more issues -----Original Message----- From: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dennis C. Refer to the following diagrams: http://www.pertronix.com/support/manuals/pdf/ignitor12vneg.pdf Check the wiring carefully and if wired like these either jump from 12 volts to the ballast resistor or directly to the + terminal on the coil. Crank the car and it should run. You can drive it, do anything you want but to turn it off you will have to remove the jumper. An easy place to jump from is the big stud on the starter relay or the battery + terminal. If you don't have it just make up a jumper lead with clips in each end. You want something easy to disconnect when necessary. Make sure the coil + terminal also has the Red wire that goes to the ignitor, if not you may want to correct the wiring. However if you look at the drawings in the link and print them it is easy to use a HiLiter pen and mark the wiring from the igniton switch to the coil. You will also see that there is a dark blue wire from the ignition switch "Run" position that goes to the coil AND the oil pressure light. I'm with the other guys, I think you may have a bad ignition switch or a wire problem on the switch. Let us know what you find. Take Care Dennis C.
