Hi - I am new to the group and this information may be old news to the members but perhaps some may be interested. After spending a long time suffering with a driveline "wobble" on takeoff, I had my driveshaft balanced with little improvement. I had a mechanic try to rebuild the ball and trunnion unit and I located a repair kit and boot (http://atlaschrys.com/) but we concluded that it was probably beyond repair. I was able to locate a complete u-joint conversion driveshaft at http://www.driveshaftspecialist.com/Left-Column/Antique-Classics.html. It was $403 delivered to Maine, it fit perfectly and solved my problem. I think it was a good value. I had some work done on my 1965 Belvedere a few years ago. Everything was done in metal except a portion of the wheel arches because, at that time, replacement wheel arches were not available (or at least I couldn't find them). I went ahead with the work with the intention of redoing the wheel arches with metal if I found replacement parts. I since found them at http://www.rustrepair.com/clips/BELVEDERE-64-FURY-63.HTM. A set of driver and passenger side wheel arches cost me about $300 delivered and they look great. I am waiting until the snow melts to have them installed by the shop. Finally, I was plagued by a bad heater control valve. The local radiator shop said that they were hard to get and their experience with rebuilt HCVs was bad. After a lot of calling, I found NORS HCVs for $100 and NOS HCVs for $150 at http://classicautoair.com/. I don't think they are shown on their website so you need to call. Given how old the heaters are on our cars and the fact that HCVs are, to my knowledge, manufactured anymore, it is worth it to buy one while they are still available. I installed my NORS HCV without removing the heater and with little mess. I saw where one of the club members was asking about convertible tops. I purchased a top from http://www.convertibletopguys.com/convertible/1379/1964-65-Plymouth-Belveder e a couple of years ago and had it installed last year. The top is absolutely beautiful and a good value at $299.95. I have installed them in the past with mixed results so I went to a top shop this time and it worked out well. One word of caution - the sides of my top extend ever so slightly over the tops of the front windows so when I open and close the doors, I put the window down slightly to clear the top. I am not sure what the deal is but it looks great so I live with it. I got a perfect well liner in the right color at http://www.profitautointeriors.com/products/Plymouth/Belvedere/6465-B-BODY-C onvertible-WELL-LINER/367524/WL64CRW0016.html for $130 including shipping. I know of one company that sells a correct boot with hidden snaps pre-installed. It fit perfectly the first time I tried. If anyone is interested I will try to remember the contact information.
