Re: Headliner with exposed bows

Are these panel similar to the hard pressed panels, mounted between press-on bows, used on 57-60 Mopar hardtops?  I have some on a couple late-50 Mopars, and they are very hard to find, with most replacing them with cloth panels.

There were several versions of the material, between each bow they were individual panels, they were a hardboard backed with a light foam and then covered with a vinyl perforated material, another type I had in a lower priced car had only a perforated hardboard with a spray coating, they were held in place by a removable strip that clamped it self to the bows.
On a 63 dodge wagon I did a few years ago I removed the panels, wire brushed them to remove the old sagging foam.  I went to a fabric store, and purchased a velour type fabric and with spray glue recovered the panels and reinstalled, I used vinyl spray color on the attachment strips that held them in place, headliner looked great, and did not take a rocket scientist or machinist to do.
