Yup!
Your kick down rod would look nothing like the one pictured.

It appears that you have no kickdown linkage whatsoever. Unless you have a
manual valve body in your auto trans, I'd suggest you don't drive the car
at
all until you get a correct and functioning kickdown linkage on the car.
You
WILL fry the trans in short order.

You should have something that resembles the pic attached on you car...

Somtimes I think it is a miracle that this car actually runs. I had a look
at my carb. Is the left side of the carb on the driver's side or the
passenger side? Regardless I don't see anything that resembles a rod going to the transmission nor am I sure where it would exactly if I did have one.

I'm attaching two pics, one from the left side one from the right. What am
I missing?

My 65 Coronet with a 383 and whatever automatic transmission would have

with that engine does not downshift when I floor it. My Chevy friend tells me that my detent cable probably needs some adjustment which he is happy to
do but upon further investigation tells me I am missing that cable. I
assume he knows what he is talking about and that I should have such a
cable
What is it called in the Mopar world?
