Re: No transmission downshift when flooring it

Now that is a solution I believe I can deal with.  Thank you.  Just sent an email to bouchillon...

Well, you don't have a manual valve body.  I'd guess that the throttle pressure lever on the left (driver's) side of the transmission is wired in place and that's why you've driven it 4K miles without grinding to a halt.  The kickdown linkages all run from the left (driver's) side of the carb to the throttle pressure lever.  There are several different styles, depending on the engine and the body style, as well as the year the car was built.  The attached may help you to understand what you don't have.  There are lots of folks who can steer you to the parts you need and there are at least two cable replacements for the old style linkage.  They all require installation and adjustment.  In my opinion, starting from scratch, use the cable kit from Bouchillon Performance.

I hope that (and the info above) helps.

Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, email your parts/car transactions and negotiations, as well as other personal messages, only to the intended recipient. Do not just press "reply" and send your email to everyone using the general '62-'65 Clubhouse public email address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine-tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
