65 Power Sterring valve question.

I have been reading about adding an extra shim to the flow valve in Mopar power steering pumps but the pump on the 65 Belvedere is different. It looks like the valve is actually on top of the steering box. Does anyone know anything about these pumps that would help slow down the pressure to help with road feel. Any and all information greatly appreciated.
