It's killing me, but as soon as I get the brakes fixed, I will selling my Plucked Chicken (1962 Newport Convertible, 361cu).
I had been unemployed for a while, and the first job offer is in Calif. and there will be no room for the Newport.
She
is complete, but a 20 footer, all chrome and stainless in good shape.
in fact I have rechromed the hard to find rear tail light bezels, and
licence frame. No rust on bumpers, but dull and could use rechrome.
Installed
new tie-rod ends, new shocks all around, new brake booster, master
cylinder, trunk weather stipping, new trunk liner from Gary Goers. Also
had Gary make a new convertible boot. Interior from Automotive
interiors, and new dash pad from Just Dashes Top is in good shape (no
rips or tears), but need a new rear window (I was quoted $250 for that). all glass is good.
Speedo
works but made so much noise I disconnected. amp, temp gauge work, oil
pressure and fuel gauges do not work. I don't know if it's the senders
or the guages, but I have a complete dash Globe with gauges that will be
included with the car. Original radio works.
Body
has some door dings and small dents but NO rust. i suspect the drivers
door is from a dodge 880, cause the widow crank is different. She needs
a decent paint job. Rockers were patched poorly but will include a NOS
rocker from a 4 door you can use for patching)
Tires have about 700 miles on them on new 15" chromies, also will include original wheels and hubcaps. Don't have a jack.
I
will let you know when it is up for sale, just thought I give you guys a
heads up if know someone was looking for a '60s ragtop
