Re: Steering Wheel Removal

Your going to need two small jeweler screwdrivers or eyeglasses repair screwdrivers, push them into the small slots on ether side of each terminal releasing the tabs or barbs.  The terminal will pull right out the back.  Make sure you write down the position in the plug each color wire went to so your not hit and missing!  Also I would fish the wires into the steering column before you install the plug it will make your job SOOOO much easier.  Inspect each terminal when installing the new switch that the barbs are extended and will catch good and not get pushed out when putting the plugs back together.  Some dialectic grease will go a long way to help also.

They're the same, so that's not a problem.  They're the round ones.  They're stubborn and won't come out so far.  It looks like they're barbed, but I haven't come up with the right technique to get them to release yet.

Thanks,

I believe 64 was a transition year.  Can you get a photo of the plug on the end of the t sig switch?  Their are flat ones and I believe round ones, make sure your new switch has the same ends as your old one.

I borrowed a puller from work.  It didn't put up much of a fight, so it's off now.  I also started installing a new Daniel Stern turn signal switch and wiring.  Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the little pin connectors out of the connector under the dash so I can put the new wires with connectors in it.
