RE: Ethanol news

Sorry Don, I filled up here at home (near Buffalo, NY) with the non ethanol gas before leaving for Norwalk. I used about half a tank and had to top it off with ethanol in Norwalk before leaving for home but even with the half and half mix I could still tell it was running better.

Where'd you get the gas in Norwalk? Would appreciate that info so I can run it in my Belvedere when I race there.

There was projected to be 70 cars in Nostalgia SS at Norwalk. Those are mostly 62 to 65s.

As far as I know all the grades of gas (87, 89, 91, and 93) have 10% ethanol at least here in NY. However I’ve been told that the higher octane grades have less ethanol in them. Still trying to find out if that’s true. I just found a local station that has 90 octane non ethanol gas and I filled up my 78 Dodge D-150 before leaving for Norwalk, Ohio this past weekend. It’s more expensive but I can’t believe the difference. The truck idles better, runs much smoother, has more power and the gas mileage went way up. I’ll be using it from now on in all my old vehicles.

Dan

PS I still can’t believe all the 62 to 65 Mopars that show up for Norwalk. It’s the most I’ve ever seen at one place.

I have heard the last few days that there will be no more 87 octane fuel sold in Nebraska shortly. Ollie was mentioning he couldn't find the 87 in Miss. so I guess ethanol mix will become the standard soon.

Everything will have 10% ethanol except the 91 which is wrong because most of it has 10% ethanol right now.

This will be hard on our old cars and actually lots of yard equipt says not to use ethanol also.

Dag nabbit!
