Re: Big Block TF-727 with lockup?

The 518 transmission, with OD and lockup, about which several have posted was not made to directly fit the big block.  However, there is an adapter kit available which is around $600.  I understand that the 518 trans is reasonably reliable and the overdrive and lockup features can be set up for manual or automatic operation as per the tech feature someone else posted yesterday.  The adapter kit might be worth it to get the overdrive for a lot of highway driving with a big block.

Ok,

I have studied this and: 727 lockup for BB was a one year only option. It was available 1978 for 400 Cid BB only. It was discontinued because of reliability problems. So I do not want to find one :)

Hi,

Was there ever lokcup converter version of 727 made for BB engines? Ie. for motorhomes? Or was lockup 727 only for SB trucks?
