Re: Speedo gear and housing

Like anything hard to find, on eBay, set up a watch and wait, check your email everyday, they send them out around 04:00 every morning.  I just got a 40 tooth gear for $9.99 just a couple of days ago.  I got my 43 with a housing and hold down for $10.00 and free shipping about a month or two ago.  Yes, they are on eBay for as high as $95.00 if your in a hurry.  It has taken me almost a year but I have from #24 to #45 and don't think I paid over $10.00 for any of the gears!   You are correct, the larger the tooth # the harder they are to find and the more $$.¢¢ they command if your in a hurry.  Take your time and they will come, a lot of people on eBay don't know what they have and don't know what to ask.  the guy I got the 43 from had just gone through a pile of trannys at a local scrap yard that they were scrapping the day before and pulled the small's from them, my luck he had two of what I was looking for and had just posted them on eBay that evening for $10.00 buy it now or best offer for each.

Reasonable depends on your point of view, I guess. Two years ago they were like $15 each, then they went to 65 bucks and now they're no longer available at the dealer. Seems the average Ebay price is around 70 bucks for anything with more than 30 teeth.

They are on eBay all day long for reasonable prices.  Most any tranny shop should have several laying around.   Your locale dealer can still get them if you want new.
