Benefits explained nicely on the page I linked:

In reference to the article linked above.... It doesn't cost $300 to rebuild a ball and trunion unit.  A complete rebuild kit for both the ball and trunion and rear "U" joint is available at the link below for half that price.

All that said, I've had two complete driveshafts made ( to handle 600+ hp) and neither of them cost more than $200 including the "U" joints. Maybe I'm wrong here but it would seem just as easy and less expensive to a normal slip yoke up front with a traditional "U" joint if you are determined to eliminate the ball and trunion unit ... unless something in the automatic trans wouldn't allow it. It appears the A833 output shaft would certainly accommodate a slip yoke. Am I wrong on that??

Same company I used for the new shaft for my '64 AZDart.  Great to deal with, good communication, bolted right in.  Couldn't ask for better!
I didn't see info on the rear slip yoke.  What are the benefits??

Just like to recommend a driveshaft source to the group.  American made parts - top quality - yet priced very reasonable.  This company was very knowledgeable and good to work with.  Pretty innovative too - how they design it with the slip yoke at the rear - rather than the front.  And fast - 2 days to fabricate and ship right before Christmas!

Same company Nick went thru for his ’63 Fury recently too, car and driveshaft shown here:

For reference - Both our cars measured the same 55.0” running length.  ’63 Fury 2 door sedan, and ’62 Dart wagon.

Both had 4.0” B&T flange and 7260 rear U-joint.
