Re: intake manifold Mopar big block install?



They were used on some early 60's Mopars.  I think it was an idea abandoned because of intake pan rust thru..........................MO

Back when I had my new 69 Super Bee 383 Mag, The dealer rebuilt it once and I rebuilt it once,also 1 intake manifold change and at no time did I ever come across these "silencer"pads! They did not come in the rebuild set.This is ythe first time I ever heard about such pads. Also they were not on the 426 Stage III I had. Is it possible that these were not on all engines?

It may or may not be relevant, but I mentioned a week or two ago that there's two silver foil 'pads' between the manifold and valley pan.  These were tappet silencers or valley pan silencers.  You can get them below if you're trying to be correct:
