I don’t know the private detective in the original email but the situation he describes is correct. Nu-Chrome’s landlord took possession of Nu-Chrome’s facility on May 30 as part of a bankruptcy proceeding and anyone who had parts at Nu-Chrome have until July 21 to get their parts. They need to arrange to pick the parts in person along with proof of ownership such as pictures, job order number, invoices, etc. before the landlord will release the parts. I suspect for most folks it would be inconvenient to have to travel to Seekonk Mass so some have apparently hired a PI to do it for them. I have since replaced my console and the one I sent to Nu-Chrome wasn’t worth a lot in its existing condition so I won’t bother with trying to get it back. The deposit for the work is gone, of course, and that is what really hurts.
