Perhaps electric heat gun? I’ve had good luck with PB blaster soak for several days on mine. Ruth Sent from Windows Mail Oh. The propane heat will melt the undercoating too. You can re-coat it later. Can you rig up a heat shield to protect the nearby areas? They also sell a sort of pencil-sized propane torch that would be easier to control and maneuver. Keep a spray water bottle handy to prevent overkill.
