James, I've bought a Flaming river tilt column (black) I had to buy a 
steering wheel as the column uses a GM tilt  mechanism. I told them what I 
wanted. The column is same length as my stock column (65 Satellite). I've 
taken my stock one out but have had knee surgery and haven't installed it 
yet. It looks like it is a drop in. You do have to change the electrical 
pins from your stock connection to match up with their wiring harness but 
that's easy. Hope this helps.
