Header to Trans Pan Proximity

Has anyone addressed the issue of the headers very close proximity to the transmission pan and gasket? If you look in this picture, there is barely a quarter of an inch between the two. The headers ARE going to melt the gasket. Any ideas? Starter heat shield wrap on the header? Fabricate a heat shield?
