I have a Poly- and a 340 LA engine. I red about a 360 LA build with Polyheads.
Is that also possible with a 340 and stroke that to a 416 poly beast?
Or is it making more sense (also money wise) to build up the Poly block to a 392 or even a 402 stroker Poly.
It is for my '64 Polara (thats also where the Poly came from😁).
Bert.
Can’t tell you how gratifying that is to hear sitting here in river city… We’ve got 50 more manifolds coming down the foundry pipe-and although we can never seem to have our promises fulfilled according to OUR timing, the cores do have a shelf life which means MAYBE by end of summer EVERYONE who pre-ordered should have theirs… We’ve also got some “ECONO” R&D projects going… 360 Speed Pro hypereutectic coated pistons and 360 crank turned down in Poly block yielding 360CI for less than $500… 360 +.030 pistons/rods assembly with .0100 off the top of the pistons with 4” crank yielding 408 10.1CR for less than $750… Sealed Power 360 pistons with stock Poly crank and blower/turbo booster kit for less than $3000… Also lining up another cam supplier (they now have brand new cores)to go with those already on line… Bruce is concerned that regrinding the cams has a negative effect on the pushrod lengths and angles… We’ll be testing and evaluating all these developments and look forward to more innovative reports like Bill’s here too… There are so many possibilities that we’re all gonna have a ton of fun for the next 10 years… Watch the prices go thru the roof for heads and blocks so scoop up some extras now while the scooping is good… I remember when we started National HEMI Owners in 1975 you could get complete engines all day long for $1000… Try to get a carburetor for that today…

So the engine is in and everything has been installed or sorted out except for a rattling trans dust shield (bottom bolts are stripped and need helicoils) and changing my 3.23's out for 3.55's. Been taking it out for some short runs with easy driving to make sure everything is tight w/ no leaks , etc and all seems good ( knock on wood). Last night I took my neighbor out for a ride and decided to blast it...HOLY $#!T...this thing flies!!! It broke my 275/60's loose immediately then caught and took off...pulling insanely hard. The 3,500 stall is definitely a whole different animal to drive but bottom line is the package performs!
