What a shame; a waste of good sheet metal; yes, it is a non-Mopar powerplant. It has the classic Chevrolet oil filler tube and GM alternator.

Yes, not really a waste (my Mopar bias showing), and yes at 30K there is a lot money invested in a cool car that will draw negatives from both camps.

I stumbled onto an old carter carb today for cheap so I picked it up for
the fun and games of it. Wondering if someone could help me ID it?
Numbers stamped on the front say *9755S ...more

That looks like a Carter 750cfm A4C carburetor by the 9755S part number.
Doing a “search” I find the following applications:

Putting a Poly in a ‘66 GMC would “embarrass the neighbors” I think...in a good way.

63 rear axle

Got my hub puller in the mail and tried it out on the 63 axle. Not too bad,
came off in about 10 min. On to the axle and pumpkin removal, then see if I
can remove about a 1/16 from the axle.
