Subject: confused alternator
installer
Any body have any real good photos close up showing the proper
alternator bracketry set up for an LA small block. Mine has the early iron
water pump not the 1970-up gattling gun looking pump. My 340 had some cobbled
together homemade nightmare for an alternator bracket. I dug out
my LA engine bracket setups, and 4 the life of me I cannot figure it
out. all the adjustment arms wont quite reach, they seem about an inch too
short. For the alernator hanger i have a setup from my old blown up 1967
273 (with the hole in the middle the dipstick comes up through)
and a triangular plate type with 3 holes. Of course I have lost all the
spacer tubes for the long bolt going thru the alternator. I can't figure it
out. neal zimmerman, eugene oregon
