congrats don. you have that monkey off your back.
expect to drop another 2 tenths when you get 'good air' in the fall or early spring. that should put a bigger smile on your face.
in launching your car, make sure you take notes. also have someone either knowledgeable of how leaf springs work or with a video camera get close to your car during launch. do not load your suspension on the starting line -- what i mean by that: if the rear of the car is raising up when you are are foot braking on the line -- you are loading the suspension. multi-leaf suspension does not respond well to that. you want to bring up the RPM to the max with out loading the suspension for the best launch.
another thing that i find helpful is a playback analog tach. it will show you where your convertor flashes along with helping you figure out optimal shift points.
