I miss my 318 poly in my 63 belvedere.It was all new rebuilt fresh when i got the car, 4 bbl, , non stock cam dual exhaust, edelbrock carb, electronic ignition.  Everyone commented on how good the motor sounded.Early one sunday morning I was at the base of 30th ave , a big  mile long hill, kind of on the edge of town, no traffic out and hopefully no cops. decided to see what she'd do.  Got on it and  she steadily accelerated up the hill, needle climbing all the way. I expected gravity to win at some point, but was at 110 mph  when i hit the peak of the hill. I backed off at the peak, but it felt like had I another 1/2 mile of hill she would have just kept going.. Eventually used the poor rusty thing as a parts car, sold the motor for 50 bucks to some guy in washington. motor could still be on the road!!
