Re: Welcome new member - 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury

If your wiring diagram is like mine, it shows a wire from the battery to the relay. In reality, it goes from the starter to the the relay. This is your mystery wire. Connect it to the stud with the 1/2" or so diameter bolt at the top (or bottom) center of the relay.

Or are you having problems at the starter side?

Feel free to call me at 330 958 5719 EST to talk through it or any other issue.

Nick, I finally installed my 383/727 into my '64 Savoy. Now I am hooking up the wiring. I bought a repo positive battery cable for '64 it has the battery cable and two starter wires. One red and one brown. My starter only has two terminals, one for the battery, large terminal and one small terminal. The small brown wire lead fits the small terminal, goes to the center of the relay. We're does the red wire go? The lead is to small for the battery terminal and to big for the small terminal. The red wire goes to the bottom of the relay and brings power to it, were does it connect? I' m losing my mind over what should be simple. Wiring diagrams show only two terminals. Help.

...I live SW of Tucson Arizona. Just got a '65 Sport Fury HT with a 318 Poly engine. Car has 95000 miles on it and all numbers I find seem to match all the equipment too. I think I will build a 4" bore x 4" stroke engine, so I bought one out of a field and have it bare to the block already. I'm excited to join and hope to make some friends here. Later, Michael.
