Neal,the best way is to tap into the guage fuse as this will allow you to dim and brighten the lights,so either on the guage fuse or after the light switch as you pull it too the first position,mrmopartech 450 424 0445

I need to know the best place to tap in for aftermarket gauge lights. I want them to come on with the headlights if possible. The gauges are 12 volt. I don't know if the factory gauge lights were 12 or 5 volts . I know  the factory gauges themselves were 5 volts. There is a light green wire between the headlight switch and the dimmer  switch. Thought that could be a good spot. But don't really know. By the way its a 68 a-body but I figured they are all pretty close.
