Top 2 holes of a small block bell housing are 7.75" apart. Big block is 6.4". 65 will have a slip yoke and cable shift. 64 will be ball & trunion like shown above and cable shift. 66+ is slip yoke and lever shift.

i believe that is a 1964 , does it have a slip yoke for the output shaft , or one that is a bolted on like this ? regards vic

I have what I believe is a '65 big block 727. I found the casting numbers on the drivers side right above the pan. This is what I found: F2464424 1126133. Does this seem right? I am having a hard time finding this info. I am trying to sell the trans and the buyer wanted to confirm it is from a '65. Tailshaft number is 2464217-1
