Re: Water Pump Housing Differences

I have a original 62
413 in my 62 Plymouth
I had the same interference problem with the cooler fan on my water pump, I sent it to the attached website of
 supplier, Flow Kooler
They adjusted the shaft length and fixed the problem

So that pump housing was not on the '62 engine originally?

You may have to look through some parts books or references to compare Part Numbers  for water pump housings.

Here is an old (2007) pump list from a rebuilder.
59 to 72      8 cyl.    350, 361, 383, 413, 426, 440 engs.       1859250, 2402921, 2843291

Mancini and others sell a MP version of the housing.

Does anyone know the differences between a 1962 Water Pump Housing &
other years?
I have one that is (I think) from 1965; for my 1962 383 build.

The 1962 temperature sending unit is a small diameter thing.
This Pump Housing I have is a much larger diameter sending unit hole.

I have a new water pump, listed for the 1962.
This Pump Housing I have won't allow the water pump to seat inside it
all the way; with out scraping the internal casting.

I assume I need a correct Pump Housing and this one won't work for my
build...?
Thanks!
