Teammates,
Back on 14 May, I posted some photos of my bucket seats in my 62 Sport Fury to see if you thought they were original to the car. I received mixed responses - some said they look just like the seats in their 62, and a couple of you said they resemble their 64 seats.
Well, mystery solved: when I was taking off the seat covers, I found the part tag on the back of the seat that definitively indicates they are out of a 64 car.
So now I'm wondering whether I should go find some 62 bucket seats, or whether I should just press ahead with the 64 seats. Does anyone know if the 62 & 64 bucket seats are essentially identical, with the exception of trim & upholstery options?
Also, I'm wondering if the bucket seat cover was made in essentially the same way on the 62 & 64. I've included a few photos of the back of the driver's bucket seat cover - I don't know if this was a standard construction, but it attached just like a door panel (vinyl attached to Masonite-like material, which pops off with clips) I'm not sure if this was an aftermarket job, or if it was standard Mopar construction, and whether they also did this in 62 (???)
I'm a little worried, since I'm taking off the seat covers to send to SMS for them to new ones. They can certainly copy what's on these 64 seats, but I'd like the construction & appearance to be true to a 62 if possible.
Thanks for any advice -
Wade
