I didn't mention that some V8 A-bodies indeed have 7¼" axles (and on '73-76,they're even the large 5x4½" bolt pattern). I was assuming that Brian could easily ID that rear and avoid the 7¼" ones like the plague! My uncle had a new '64 Dart with a 273 and four-speed,and he went through 3 7¼"'s under warranty. After the warranty,he paid to have an 8¾" narrowed to fit his Dart.
