Fewer People want a '57-58 Mopar than a '57-58 Chevy or Ford. Even '57-58 Mercurys and Pontiacs are less than their more desired 'lower-end' counterparts. The Chevy and Ford will be wanted by more people BECAUSE they are easier to get parts for (than Mercury/Pontiac/Mopars),so the initial price of the project car will be higher as well.
The values of my 1960 and 1961 Plymouth are lower than for '57-58 Plymouths for the same reason, fewer people want those two years than the '57-58 Plymouths.
