I recently started a "simple little project" which is snowballing out of control. The plan was to pull the timing chain cover and oil pan to inspect the engine. The farther I go into this project the harder it has become until I am now considering just pulling the engine altogether. I'm working in a driveway with a small amount of garage space available to pull the engine inside. I'm also not very experienced at building engines. The car (a 58 Belvedere 4 dr sdn) is all original as it is now. My question is should I just get a short block and save myself a lot of aggravation or rebuild the engine and keep it original?
