The 57 318 2-4 barrel motor #s started with FP31 while the 301 was P31. The 58 Fury only 318 started with FLP and other 318's with LP. So you really need a 57 block to be correct although they are all the same casting #s. You also need the date code (right rear of block) to be earlier by a week or two than the date your car was produced. Its O.K. to build a car to look as correct as possible but please always be upfront about the orgins of the car and motor especially to a future owner. ps You can get your build sheet from Chrysler Historical at the Chrysler museum.
