It is possible to cruise on level road at speed with the primary carburetor providing all but a fraction of the airflow and fueling. Note that the primary carb is the one with the choke, if a single choke setup (ala 57 DeSoto Adventurer, 57 300C, 57 Plymouth Fury) You will always have *some" airflow and fueing frommthe secondary carburator, as the idle circuits are used to balance the mixture. But not much. Of course, if you put your foot into it, you will get that unmistakeable dual 4 ruoar, and also a loss of fuel economy. So be carefuel!
