how do you you do it ?---gently---and remember you are smarter than the piece you are working on---the guys ahead of me are correct!---i like to work on a hard surface-like a small piece of plate steel 6x6x1/4---it doesn't take much to remove a ding---the hammer i use is a 8oz.old tack hammer-1/2in. head and v-shaped tang with no sharp angles---when tapping out ding go easy and try not to go to far-but if you do just tap back in gently---a small hammer is the key!!---once you tap out slightly beyond flush(very slight) you can file---you need the finest and widest diamond tooth file you can find---the smoother the file the less work---once you file-then you can proceed with wet sanding---try 400 with a block first then progress---after the wet sanding the rest is easy---try not to be over aggressive and your pieces will turn out fine---remember what canman said about airborn particles---wear a suitable mask(those paper masks are junk)and by all means use a test piece---any questions feel free---hope i helped---later---chuck lowe
