Location, Location, Location...
So far, a few sites have been mentioned for this gathering.

Las Vegas, Nevada seems to have become the most popular place.
Meanwhile, a few members feel that '57 Heaven in Branson, Missouri would be a more centrally located.
Still others indicate that "Wherever Miss Belvedere Is..." would be the best place for us to get together.
Of course, when it comes to the geographical EXACT CENTER of the United States, Topeka, Kansas looks good.

All of these locations (and a few others) are included in this poll.
That said, hopefully we can find a solution that will benefit nearly ALL ForwardLookers... "Domestic & Foreign" alike.

Enjoy!

Central USA makes sense..
Everyone had No Choice with Tulsa, As it was the Unearthing or Rebirth .. But i problem i can see is , If you chose West US then people will come from Central and West only, Chose East US and you will get East and Central members only, But go with Central as before and you will most probably get the Most People show up, I realise the East and West have to Travel further But Neil and others drove from Cal and Dick Whelan drove from New York, Dick ain,t gonna drive to Vegas and Neil ain,t gonna drive to New Jersey, SO Central makes the Most Sense,,,

I voted Vegas, because I like Neils point about not getting kicked out of the parking lot when we are having a good time. I also could go Branson, about the same distance for me either way. Middle of the country would probably get more folks.

Vegas would be a pretty neat place to meet up. I not saying that just because I live here, I went to Tulsa, so I am willing to travel. Vegas is 24 hours, lots of lodging, food, liquor and women. If it is decided that Vegas is the location for the reunion, I would be willing to help out planning and arranging events.

Sure, Charlie. I couldn't make Tulsa, yet I'll be hitching a lift with "jsrail" - in his '56 Dodge CRL if it's ready - if we're meeting in Vegas. I don't see why you couldn't mix as well.

Matter of fact, you'll be one up on me - all I have for a car ID at the moment is my user name - you've got a REAL '59 Plymouth.

this is a great show for the entire family. Even my wife love to go to it. lots of great cars and tons of parts its in a beautiful park with real grass and real trees. they have an olympic size pool in the middle of the park to cool off in. they have tons of crafts from the meminites there. the entire high is over flowing with an antique toy show, Mack truck museum is walking distance from the show and is free to visit. they have an ampitheather with bands playing all day and fireworks ant evening, and this years featured car is the DeSoto.

"Central USA" makes as much sense, as Nantuket (there was an old car from Nantucket...) due to that newly-discovered
transportation called AIRPLANES.

And, boys-and-girls, the price of gasoline is going to be $4.00+/gallon, by next spring.

And, people are always making excuses about why they "can't" drive their cars over X-miles/days...to a destination.

And, air-fair, in addition to being FAST, is not going to be particularly expensive.

My main problem with Branson, is the same as for Tulsa: CLOSING-TIME (and, maybe: 'dryness-of-county' ???)

I don't want to get rousted, from a bar, or a parking lot, because of the local blue-noses/laws.

This is supposed to be a PARTY (if someone wants to call it a night & go to bed at 11PM: FINE ) , but hard-core car-people
have been known to stay up, socializing, even after midnite.

Gentility has its place; but, I want to have some rowdy FUN,and FUN is abundant in VEGAS.

I vote Sin City.  But if it is Branson, how far from Monett is it?  My brother lives there.  And do they have some music that isn't C & W some of the time?  50's and 60's are great by me, I'm just not a Country fan, and if that's all they got...............I'm staying in the car with Oldies blasting! LOL

Mark, OF COURSE MY CAR WILL BE DONE! LOL  (you might have to sit on an orange crate though! lol)  My neighbor and I have been busting our humps this holiday weekend, hoping to get it in epoxy primer by Sunday!  Delivered the engine parts to Phoenix Engine Rebuilders on Wednesday, got my gas tank from Big M, fuel pump from Robert, Pulley from Bruce, etc., etc.  Blowing all my cash before I realize it! (sorry family....gonna be a tight Xmas this year! lol)

Haha. Yes, there a plenty of women Mike. Just don't go for the ones that charge by the hour. It's cheaper to find one drunk, that way you only need to spend a few bucks to keep her that way And you don't have to call her. Now if your looking for a keeper, I don't think Vegas is the best place to look.

I don't think a date has be officially set for the reunion but if it is after July 08 I will be able to participate in all the adventures legally. I will be 21 in July. While its not impossible to enjoy the Vegas night life as minor it sure is difficult.

We need more votes for Vegas!

In all sincerity, I will NEVER NEVER fly again. It costs too much money to be treated like sh!t and presumed a terrorist. Nope, not me ever again. Not going to happen.

So, that means I have to drive. Angie gets two weeks of vacation, and it will take over a week to get there and back by car. Vegas isn't worth it to me.

But I'm just one guy. You will have just as much fun if I'm not there. Vegas does sound fun. If it is where everyone wants to go, then GO!!!!!!!

I'm just about certain you can count me OUT for a Vegas reunion, too.

Central U.S. makes much more sense to me... but no way in Hell am I driving out to Sin City.
In my opinion, it would be just as ridiculous as holding a get-together in Saint David, Maine (Check a Map).
Nothing against Vegas (or St. David, for that matter)... but they're pretty far out if you don't live less than 5 states away.

Sure, I could fly in... but what's the fun in doing that to hang out with fellow CAR FOLKS?!?! If we were a bunch of airplane enthusiasts, anywhere would be great... but by and large we're CAR PEOPLE. That means DRIVING there would be half the fun.

To me, Vegas does sound like a Helluva great time for a vacation - but not a car event.
If I ever do fly out there, I'll probably look up KennyJ and try to do lunch or something, but when it comes to an official ForwardLook gathering there, I'm out.

Of course, like Brain, I'm just one guy...
So, that makes two of us who are geographically impaired when it comes to a Vegas get-together.

We were fortunate to have had a (as they say, in the military) "Command Performance" to appear in Tulsa, as that place/date
was fixed in time.

Right now, I have had firm "OK's" on Vegas in late May/early June from John Fowlie, Mike Bond, Mark (1959 Fury), Clive Reeve,
and Jimmy Johns. I haven't heard back from Steve Mopar-to-You, or Dave (Swept 57). Ron Mog & I are good for that time, then, there's
Jay Eldridge.

If Jay could give us a firm date/place in Vegas, I think that we could get more-definite committments.

Hey, east-coast 2009 is doable, too, but, we need to begin somewhere, with this 'deal'....

'Course, we could do an East-West thing. Maybe we have an Eastern US meet in someplace like Atlanta, Memphis, Charlotte, Daytona, or someplace over here. Then we can all meet, and all drive, and I don't have to go through Alabama ever again.

Split the group. Twice the fun. The hardcore guys can go to both, but the weenies like me can hit the closer one.

i'm out for vegas. i won't fly, same reasons as brain copper. time is short, too. a week is the absolute longest i can ever get away from the office.

i voted for tulsa, but would vote for anywhere in the central u.s. i also like the route 66 thing. however, neil has an excellent point, and that is "enlightened" hospitality. soooo......

NEW ORLEANS! as far as "sinning" is concerned, it makes vegas look like an amateur. waaaay more experience! it is also centrally located (albeit southern), and they're looking for business. downside? HOT AS HELL in the summer. VERY NICE in the winter. hmmmm.........

i also like kansas city, oklahoma city, or dallas/fort worth. branson is cool with me, but it is definitely NOT a "party town", unless you party like you were born in 1927.

i won't even mention stroud, although i'd love to have you folks again. by the way, we're up to 4 wineries in the city limits now, and sell on sundays.

two different things:

one: i won't fly, for the reasons set forth by brain copper, killer of u-joints.

two: i'm short on time, so i gotta drive close.

the two are not intended to be confused, but i can see how they could be.

I might have to fly as well or maybe a train that might be Kool. Either way I just dont know, I will find a way to make it cause it will be a blast. Oh did I mention I finally took my 57 back from that dork of a painter, its all stripped now I might paint her myself. :o). But I will make my 59 a dependable driver first. Im there in 08 and probably 09 as well or maybe we all can take a boat to visit Clive and Charlie over there in the UK, we could plot our own American Invasion on British soil LOL.

Right now, Jay Eldridge's local Vegas contacts are checking on hotel/casino availabilities and rates.

Stay tuned.

Hey Brain if those are cars I dont think I even want to see them, I bet my big but wouldn't even fit in one of them LOL. Ok Clive I will get the 59 ready for a trip like that, I do miss driving her( I mean pounding the excellaRATOR Pedal) alot. And as far as shipping my car to England It would be cheapper to strap some pontoons to her and drive there, LOL dont think I wouldn't, I have just enough hillbilly in me to try it. No offense to anybody else resembling that remark. :o). Sorry about the spelling I'm tired.

Sorry, I'm going to rattle some cages tomorrow.  I guess with the holidays and everything, they haven't been speedy about getting back to me.

Crap Neil, one guy moved somewhere in Montana and I don't know how to contact him.  Not hearing anything else from anybody, guess I just don't rate that high!  Not sure if mine will bedone by Memorial Day weekend, need to find someone to do my rockers, floorpans, and bodywork.  Probably have to try them myself after tax season.

Sorry guys, I tried.
