Location: the Great Northeast | The wife and I visited Orlando last week (3-7 to 3-13) and did the usual Disney and Universal things. I have a great woman and she did the research that allowed us to attend 5 different car shows over Saturday and Sunday.
I live in Maine and it's been since fall for a good car show. All that snow kinda fills the parking lots in the North. There were lots of interesting cars at the shows, both Mopar and not. Although not all Forward Look, these pics have captured some mighty fine Mopar metal.
Back near Orlando, our first show on Saturday was in Avon Park at Wells Motor Company. There were several snow birds from Maine. On the picture front, we have a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe. The next three are of a '62 Newport, the infamous "plucked chicken". The owner told me he had owned it 20 years or so and that the 90+ year old woman he bought it from sold it when she scraped the passenger side fender off putting it in the garage. He bought car and fender and has been loving it ever since. Next up are a couple of shots of a '63 New Yorker. We round things out with three different '66 Dodges.
The next show was Apopka.

Location: the Great Northeast | The Apopka show was a lot smaller and there wasn't a lot but the two that caught my eye were sweet. First up was a '66 Charger. The red '63 Dart convertable was a real looker. They even had a sand van (unpictured) just like the old Aurora slot car racers I used to play with as a kid.
The last show for Saturday was at Old Town.

Location: the Great Northeast | Old Town is great. We enjoyed walking through the shops first and then going out back before the parade and checking out the cars.
The first two shots are of a '59 Windsor. This was a really nice car. I had one of these "gold lions" in my 20's, a fun ride. Next up is an A100. I am not too good with the year... maybe between 65 and 67. It was Cuda central with three different Cudas in 5 pics. Two '65s and a '67. Finally up is one of a couple really strange looking mix ups. It's like a new center with old trim. Check out this Chevy mix.
Sunday started with a long ride to Rennegers, a great time.

Location: the Great Northeast | It was a little bit of a drive (45 mins) but Rennegers flea market, guitar swap and car show was worth the extra miles.
There were some overall cool cars and 3 Mopars that I snapped. First up is a '66 art GT convertable. Wish the top was down. Next are 3 pics of a really nice red (are they all red?) '59 Plymouth Fury. I really enjoyed the '62 Dart. Those offset head and tail lights really catch the eye. Even the dash is a treat.
The last show was at Hot Wings.

Location: the Great Northeast | The show at Hot Wings was small, maybe 30 or so cars. Only one caught my eye here. A 1950 Dodge Wayfarer was showing it's grace.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I had a great time at every show. I can't wait until we start having our own up in Maine again. Did I mention they are expecting 16" of fluffy white stuff tomorrow. :-(

Location: the Great Northeast | Maybe I should have posted this under New England. I guess it's just same-old same-old for the Sou'easters. |

Location: Northern New Jersey | Bill,
Thanks for all these great photos. Being from New Jersey, I know what you mean about the LONG winters. 5 shows in 2 days. Your wife really is a Saint.
Take the plunge this year and make the trip to Chryslers at Carlisle. You won't be disappointed.

Location: the Great Northeast | Hi Steve,
Thanks for the kudos. My wife is a Saint. She went with me to Carlisle Chrysler Show last year too. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?album...
I saw some nice cars and found a nice signal canceling switch. It was wicked hot, too. |
