A guy over on RodsnSods has a '61 Imperial Le Baron that he's going to be banger racing shortly so is breaking what he doesn't need, 413 motor and trans, interior, trim, glass etc.
Jump in now if there's anything useful to be had before it gets wrecked.

That's a real shame, the car looks decent and salvable

I can't mate. I've asked about the trans in it. I really don't like the idea if it being banger raced. I've seen people put far far worse than that back on the road. I guess the screens are different to the same year or 1960 dodges?

I guess it was imported it with no title so putting it on the road in the uk is virtually impossible.

You couldnt get one here without a title, although, I did ask what happens if the car comes from a US state that does not title old cars and was told that a bill of sale is then acceptable

Still wont save that imperial though

It's far too good to be broken let alone bangered! What does it owe the vendor?
You would be able to register it with an invoice or receipt surely.
I would love it as a daily smoker, it is fabulous in a Lemony Snicket / Batmobile / old class way.
The engine would do you Carl wouldn't it?

Seems odd to take out a 413 if you're intending to race the car. I mean, what the hell are you going to replace it with that would be better?
He says he's driven it so the car can't be too bad. Perhaps the nsf corner is destroyed and not visible in the pic or something.
Someone go and save it.......... please.

Imperial glass only fits Imperials. They are wider than other Chrysler cars.

Well he's hoping to get a lot of money for that 413 and trans.. £900 in fact.. He'll probably but something a bit more plentiful and useable for banger racing (I don't know what though) maybe something with a manual trans?

assuming banger racing is the same a demolition derby - it was explained to me that the fatal fault with any Mopar big block is the location of the stock oil pump/filter. banger/derby guys get nervous about it sticking out front and being smashed.
around here, they usually put a SBC in it as parts are more common and cheaper.
