Location: Netherlands | That's probably because of all the various special characters in the photo's name, or because the image-server doesn't start with 'www'.
I think this forum can't handle those characters, or the server where the image is on doesn't allow hotlinking the image on other websites.

Location: Wales, Wisconsin | The easiest way I have found to post photos here from another site is as follows:
1. Right click the picture you want to post and choose the "save image as" option
2. Go to the thread here that you want to post it in
3. Write your post and choose the option at the bottom that says "add attachments"
4. Click submit and a new window will open that says "choose file"
5. Choose the picture you saved and click "submit"
6. Now click on "return to thread."
Your picture should appear unless it is too large. If that happens, you will need to resize the picture using something like "Paint"
Hope this helps as it is easier than it sounds. If you still have trouble feel free to PM me with the link and I will post it for you.
John

Location: Arizona |
it appears that you can link a photo that has a web address that starts with www and ends with jpg, such as www.allpar.com/photos/chrysler/1960-61/polara.jpg

You need to put it inside square brackets [ ] with a preface of img=http:// . It would look like this (img=http://www.allpar.com/photos/chrysler/1960-61/polara.jpg) except I'm using parentasis intead of the square brackets so you can see the link rather the it showing the linked photo. The photo below is the result of using [ ] used intead of ( )

that said, getting and posting the actual photos makes things permanent. if the link disappears the photo disappears...... and no, I don't know why all those -/p- paragraph marks are showing up and messing up the format.....

Location: bishop, ca | This is always a bit of a PITA, due to 'lines of resolution' (or whatever it's officially called)....but you can, always, take a close-up photo
of a screen-image...just keep on taking photos until you (manage to) get a reasonably clear image off the screen.
Here's a random example, of the above shot...first shot has all those waves in it; second attempt was taken immediately
after the first one, but the 'waves' had dissipated, and the image is rather good.

Location: bishop, ca | The screen-shot works best when the image is 'protected' from copying, or when the image, itself, is small or has little
detail-resolution in it, or when the Evil-pay tries to keep you from 'copying' the image, by making you scroll-over
to the right side of an image, in order to see an enlargement OF the subject image(s).

Here's a couple grab-shots of Evil-pay sites, where the first one doesn't have a 'mouse-over' option, and the next one
is one of those nice sites where you can go 'over' to see a series of close-up images...which makes obtaining a close-
up image of an item relatively easy.

If you want something fancier I recommend Snagit http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.html |
