Speedo sticks

This is the 2nd time in 600 miles the speedo needle hangs up at 20 MPH. I didn't notice it until I was putting it in the garage from a short trip. What would be a good lube for this unit. I don't remember what I used the last time. There is a little tube like screw with a felt on the end of it. But it is really difficult to get to. And taking it out to work on is not an easy task either.
