| Next weekend I'll be replacing some interior parts and may choose to pull the whole dash. I don't see any results searching the forum so I thought I'd ask for advice here before I tear into it. Any tips on dash removal? I see the screws holding in the radio, after that's out of the way is it relatively easy to get the gauges out? Also need to get the temp knob out for cleaning....it's pretty much stuck in a single position. Thanks all. |

Location: northern germany | If you remove the whole dash anyway (why?), why don't you remove the gauges, etc when you have pulled the dash? |

| That's what I was asking...am I better off pulling the whole dash or just the components? I'm not sure if it's easy to get to the temp knob without pulling the whole dash, and am really looking for advice for the people who have done it before. Hope that cleared it up, sorry for the confusion |

Location: Invermere B.C. Canada - Rocky Mountains | Sid is right (darn I hate it when that happens ) pull the whole dash. 8 bolts I think. Not sure if this helps, I am doing mods and adding A?C vents.
Take the centre section out first, it say Dodge because it's a Plodge.

Do not worry, not gonna happen, this is not what I said. I would leave that heavy thing in place. I'm always for originality (ok, mostly) and every time you dig into it removing, cleaning, replacing parts, originality, that can't be restored, is lost.
I even like the idea that there is some California dust behind my dash, from the fall of 1959, when my car was sold
I hate clinical-clean, like new restored cars, these cars don't even have that disturbing old car smell. I like to see, feel and smell history.
