Can you get a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood or drywall in the back of that Desoto wagon?

Location: The Mile High City | Easy to miss! That De Soto has been for sale for a long time. I think a seller wanted $32K for it just a year ago or so... It's a really neat wagon. I still like the 1956 De Soto wagons better! Rich, that '53 Coronet convertible is awesome!!! |

Location: NY & VT | Cute indeed... our youngest looked like that over 25 yrs ago!
I really like that '55, if it had the 260 Hy-Fire v8 and Powerflite with Power Steering I'd be mightily tempted!
I've always felt that a wheelbase of 115" and LOA of about 200" is really the perfect size for a family car.
Ironically that's about the size that '60s intermediates ended up, as evidently even the car-makers themselves realized that the 220" whales that "standard size" cars became were really too much. They're certainly a handful to drive and park today. |

Location: The Mile High City | It must be a nifty knick-knack that comes with the car, but doesn't go with the car. The image of the engine bay has no compressor, condenser, evaporator, ... That thing isn't self-contained, is it?
