I have a 1957 Dodge D 500.

My spare tire rim is slightly bent. Maybe hit a curb once upon a time It holds air. I would like to replace both the tire and rim.
The rim in question, which is in the trunk, does not have a stamped width size. Would I have to remove the tire to find size stamp on inside of rim? The tires on the car are 800 14 non radials.
Question: What size width of the rim is correct?

Thanks Bob

Should be 14×5.5, I am sure someone will confirm or correct that.

Congrats on the D500 Bob. Post up some photos of the car in a "Members Rides" thread.

As for wheel size, the only way to truly confirm the size is when you remove the tire. (See my 56 D500 wheels below)

In the interim, a 8.00 x 14 tire does imply, as Shep suggested, a 5.5" wide wheel, as given below:

Not if you have one of these.
