Yes, I have to change the oil and check the air in the tires.I have put about 15000 miles on it since restoring it in 2003.

I was going to come, but I just can't make it to events like that when they are Monday-Thursday. That is definitely a timeline for people who are retired. Hope to make it to another one in the near future.

Some Pix from the show...the red B took home Best of Show honors.... The 57 with the unique sweep came from the factory that way...one of a kind. Lamar's very nice C is the black one.... Gary Goers served as the principal judge for the letter cars.

Really wish I could have made it. I have always wanted to see the Bob Rodgers special '57 Chrysler 300-C. Bob Cornett owns that car I think. Glad to see they had a great turn out.

Yes, the "factory custom" 300C was special built for Bob Rodgers, Chief Engineer and was his personal driver for a time. This car has literally every factory option available except the newly offered limited slip differential (not even named "Sure-Grip" until '58). The car has gray and bronze colored interior. The seats being of woven leather. It was special built at "the Jefferson shop" also known as Chrysler's "Header House". The base car was built in February but all the modifications caused it to not leave until May 14th to Rodger. This is one of several 300Cs with a 120 speedo.

Are we talking about the car with the black color sweep and 58 Ply looking kick-up trim ?

In the interest of Forward Look accuracy, please do allow me to point out that the "Father of the 300" was Robert MacGregor (Bob) Rodger (no "s"), a native of upstate NY and a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Clarkson University in Canton NY.
That's a tidbit that I recall from my brief, inglorious, 300 Club days back in the '80s. My feelings about that most "august" group roughly parallel those frequently and virulently expressed by our own Brent right here in these pages. Some 300 folks were pleasant and helpful, however that fact was well obscured by certain pretentious, sanctimonius jerks.

Mr. Rodger's 300 is absolutely fabulous. On an average of about every 3 hours I kick myself for selling mine 30 yrs ago. And the '57 Sara is equally beautiful to my eye.
