If I'm not mistaken, the dealership used to be at N. Green Bay Rd and Capitol Drive. It closed years ago however. The dealer had a superb collection of classic Buicks from the 1930s and 40s whch he would put on display occassionaly and invite other car nuts to bring their cars for a shine and show display during the summer. The last one I remember attending was in 1981.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9605 Location: So. Cal | Also the modern license plate and the Birkenstock sandals. Even though Birkenstocks were slowly introduced to the US in 1966 and were worn by many hippies in the '70's, they didn't become widely popular here until the 90's.....but he did a great job of keeping that photo mostly vintage looking. Another give-away: They took a picture of just their car, setup on the beach. That would be a really weird vintage picture, but it makes more sense today. That would be a really weird vintage picture, but it makes more sense today. I like to search the www for 50s/early 60s car pictures since I got a computer in 98. It seems lots of people were in love with their rides and took pictures just of the car back in the day. Understandable!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7385 Location: northern germany | Yup it is braking, but does not show any, or much nosedive. Some pictures on the site are a year off. The New York State Police has very attractice cop cars. Expert Posts: 1287 | Sid -- Neat Golden Commando Fury: note the "Golden Commando Power" badge on the right rear corner of the deck lid. That emblem and the "SonoRamic Commando Power" one were identical in '60-'61, but the '60s had theirs on both front fenders. I don't know how these came to be placed on the cars as I have heard that they may have been packed in the trunk prior to shipping and then dealer installed, while it well may be that they went on at some point on the production line. Back in the day, most guys liked to impress the opposition at a potential "stop light Grand Prix," although others would prefer to have "sleepers" that packed a surprise or two on such an occasion. I do know that on my Big-Tailed Beast, the SonoRamic Commando "scare emblem" on the driver's side is 17.75" above the rocker panel and two inches forward of the door opening; on the passenger's side, it is 2.25" forward of the opening but only 17" above the rocker panel. This seems to indicate on the Beast, anyway, that they may have been positioned by use of the Mark I eyeball. Joe Godec
