Amazing what a new set of wheels can do to a car Larry. I know a bodyshop that can spiff that right up for you. 1 year turn around I hear.

The sheet metal that is on that fender seems to be cleaning up, but what about the lack of metal in the areas where the rustouts occurred (like the frame)? These will definitely need the creation of metal, or replacement parts......

Good to see Larry posting again.

Wait a minute!  This thread is seven and a half years old!

The car is located at Historic Auto Attractions in Roscoe Illinois (a bit North West of Chicago ). Their web site is down but they do have a facebook page.

My 50th High School Reunion is in Illinois the middle of Sept. I'm still planning on driving my 57 Plymouth that I built and drove to Tulsa in 2007 back home and hopefully if the Museum is open, drive up to see Miss Belvedere.

Of course with everything that is going on in the country everything is tentative right now.

That's cool, Mike!!

That sure was a fun trip in 2007 to see all this unfold, even if the car was a disaster.

Got the word a couple of weeks ago the HS reunion has been cancelled for this year. I'm still kicking around whether I'll go back at all this year or just wait till next August when they have the reunion scheduled for. Either way I'll be going to the museum when I do go back.

Well a year later and I made it! The postponed 50th class reunion was held last week and I drove the 57 back to Illinois.

On Saturday I drove up to Roscoe IL to see the Museum.

The car looks better than when I saw it last, but it’s still pretty sorry looking. Good story though and I wouldn’t trade having made either trip.

Your '57 looks amazing Mike. Love what you did regarding a mild custom.

It's really a shame what happened to that car. I read about it in the 70's and was looking forward to seeing it one day. Does anyone know what happened to the site?
